Shop Owner Rick Campbell brings with him over 30 years’ experience in the auto industry. In fact, his family history in the automotive industry goes back to 1929. Wow! Although he is not a purebred Floridian, he has lived in Florida since 1990 after moving from Hagerstown, Maryland. A huge sports enthusiast, not only did Rick play college and professional baseball but he has also coached many teams. Baseball isn’t his only passion though, you can find him cheering for the Washington Redskins if he’s not spending time with his three kids and two grandchildren.

Ice Cold Air Discount Auto Repair is giving away a free oil-change including a tire rotation to any customer who brings in a new, unwrapped toy for the Marines’ “Toys for Tots” program from now until December 11th. This is the Pinellas-based auto repair franchise’s 16th year giving away oil changes to those who donate toys. Customers have the option of trading the new toy for an oil change and tire rotation on the spot or exchanging the toy for a voucher for a free future oil change and tire rotation or $20 off any service. There are 17 Ice Cold Air locations throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. “We are very proud to join the Marines and their exceptional program for our 16th year. It is an honor to help facilitate our customer’s support and making positive impacts in the lives of children in our community,” said Tina M. Crystal River Location Now Services Vehicles Using 1234yf

This colorless gas is being used as a replacement for R-134a as a refrigerant in newer model automobile air conditioners.
Crystal River Location Gets New Owner with the Same Friendly Face
We are thrilled to announce that on Tuesday, May 1stRick Campbell, a longtime manager will go from employee to owner of the Ice Cold Air® Discount Auto Repair at 730 NE 5th Street (Hwy 44) in Crystal River.
Rick became the manager of our Crystal River location in November 2013 and originally was not interested in becoming the owner of the business. But year after year his loyal band of customers grew and he started to see the opportunity all around him.
Rick has a lot of experience in the automotive repair industry. In fact, his family’s history in automotive goes all the way back to 1929! Rick has been a part of it for almost 35 years now. He has managed as many as 243 locations at once; several years ago he owned six of his own shops in Hernando & Citrus Counties that had his name on the building. However, life circumstances changed and he took an opportunity to recharge and refocus his energy on raising (at the time was) his young son and being a new granddad to his oldest’s new baby. He now has two grandkids and his youngest is almost a teenager.
The enthusiasm of his customers is what changed his mind about ownership. “When you have such great customers, it becomes an easier decision to make. Being an owner of multiple locations not only takes you in multiple directions at once but it also makes you busy managing logistics, issues and employees. I love the idea of owning this one shop and running this one shop. Because obviously you have a lot less of those things and you still have to manage them but, you’re not too busy to build relationships with the customers.”
